LinksBubble ("the app", "we", "us") is a local desktop application for Windows. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with the app and this website.
1. Data We Do Not Collect
LinksBubble the desktop application does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on our servers. Specifically:
- Your saved links, descriptions, and tags never leave your computer
- No analytics or usage tracking is embedded in the app
- No crash reports are sent anywhere
- No account is required to use the app
2. Data Stored Locally
All app data is stored in a JSON file on your computer at %APPDATA%\linksbubble\. This includes your saved links, descriptions, tags, preferences, and license key. You can delete this folder at any time to remove all data.
3. Outbound Network Requests
The app makes the following outbound requests:
- Page description fetch: When you paste a URL, the app requests the page HTML to extract the title and meta description. This is a standard HTTP GET request , the page owner may log your IP address as with any normal browser visit.
- YouTube thumbnails: For YouTube URLs, a thumbnail image is loaded from YouTube's CDN (img.youtube.com). YouTube's standard privacy policy applies.
- Announcement banner: The app may fetch a small JSON file from linksbubble.com to display optional announcements. This is a standard HTTP GET request.
- License key verification: Pro users' license keys are verified via Gumroad's API (gumroad.com). Only the license key and your email are sent for verification.
4. This Website
We use PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand how visitors interact with linksbubble.com. This data is fully anonymized and no third-party cookies are used for ad tracking. We do not sell or share email addresses.
5. Payment Processing
Purchases are processed by Gumroad (gumroad.com), which acts as the Merchant of Record. When you purchase LinksBubble Pro, your payment details and email are handled by Gumroad under their privacy policy. We receive your email address and license key data to manage your subscription.
6. Children
LinksBubble is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
